Extra detailsRoy Fossett bought this frame in 1956 from Cyril Peacock for Four pounds ten shillings. Roy was a friend and Club mate of Peacock's at the Tooting Cycling Club. After Cyril won the sprint title at the 1954 Commonwealth Games on this frame he received Raleigh sponsorship which included 'Harris Raleigh' track bikes. This sponsorship continued for some years and he sold off his other equipment. Roy was a good Club rider winning the Tooting Championship and racing at many locations including Herne Hill, Paddington and the Isle of Man. He moved to Australia in the 1970's with his bikes and a young family. The Flyer was repainted once about forty years ago but in the same colour scheme, the cycle parts remain the same save the saddle - like many racers of the period he had only one saddle used for both road and track.
