The original owner was Alan Nelmes, he bought the frame new from Burtons shop in Stafford, I know he raced on it in the late 1950’s, his sister showed me some photos, also his 1958 racing licence, he rode for the Dawley Velo based around Wellington Shropshire. Eric Moody had the frame resprayed in the early 90’s hence the late 531 sticker. As far as I know, the bike had little use from then until now. I contadted Henry Burtons shop in search for further information, but they no longer keep records from that long ago.
