My 1939 F.W.Evans and I think from the catalogue that it was a model called the Steelite (S type as it has a Sturmey). I bought it from a V-CC member via the ubiquitous eBay. The only changes I have made are the pedals, clips and straps (they were Lyotards) and the saddle (was a Wrights). Oh and I added the old Carradice bag.
