The tandem was offered to
me through my modern cycling club, the thriving San Fairy Ann, having
previously been in the hands of successive members of the club since it
was bought by its first owner, a Ray Sellens. It is still in its
original crackle finish and transfers. There has been some updating of
components over the years - mainly the Benelux gear from the '50s - so
I was delighted to be able simply to clean it up, replace some bearings
etc and begin to use it without a transforming 'restoration'.

acts as mudguard to seat stay. Drive-side chainstay is also plate at
front to give clearance for double chainring for in-line
chain drive
