I purchased
the frame on eBay with its original paintwork quite damaged in places.
I decided not to have it repainted but to repair the paintwork where
areas of bare metal were exposed. The difficulty of course was to find
a colour match with the original dark green. The forks had been given a
white Dulux finish which when stripped off revealed the original chrome.
Eventually I found a shade of enamel which was as near to the original
as I was likely to get and repaired the damaged areas, leaving the
minor scuffs and scratches as they were.I renewed the decals on the
seat tube, and touched up the block lettering, lined the lugwork and
finished off with a few coats of clear enamel spray.
